A biography of an exceptional man. John Yeadon became aware that he had a life and that it was his to direct. It became his project. Self education and unbounded energy drove this project forward. His stage was a small industrial town in the West Riding of Yorkshire over almost decades in the 18th and 19th centuries. He kept a diary for more than fifty of those years and through that we get to know about life in the town, his view of the wider world and most of all his involvement in an unruly Methodist chapel.
