This movie is down-right boring. I've watched it a few times and still don't like it any more. There are interesting parts but they are few and far between – Emma being brought down to size after a smart comment and then right at the end when all ends well. Certainly not Austen's best work (the book is boring too) but if you want to watch Emma go for the newer version in the Jane Austen collection set.
Set in the lush English countryside in the early part of the 19th Century, EMMA tells the funny and timeless tale of a young woman so devoted to meddling in the lives and romances of others, that she may miss her chance to learn about love first hand.
