Youssef Cassis is Professor of Economic History at the University Pierre Mendes France in Grenoble, France, and a Visiting Research Fellow in the Business History Unit at the London School of Economics. He is co-founder and editor of Financial History Review and a member of the editorial board of Contemporary European History, Entreprises et Histoire, and Enterprise and Society. He has published many books and is currently engaged in research projects on the performance of European business in the twentieth century and on the history of international financial centres in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Ioanna Minoglou is Assistant Professor of Economic History at the Athens University of Economics. She has published books and articles on industrialization, entrepreneurship, international business and finance and is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Maritime History. She is currently involved in a research project on the formation of joint stock companies and business elites in Greece.
