Description

Essential Treatments in Cardiovascular Chinese Medicine includes information on the basic medical sciences of blood lipids, clinical significance, diagnosis, and treatment methods. It also covers TCM differentiations, diagnosis, treatment principles, and methods. In recent years, TCM practitioners have not been specifically trained in treating patients with hyperlipidemia. The book gives a detailed explanation of cholesterol problems and offers Chinese medicine as a solution. This book is intended for US-based licensed TCM practitioners as well as cardiology researchers.

Author Biography:

Dr. Anika Niambi Al-Shura has 12 continuous years of TCM study between the United States and China. Her master's degree was earned from a TCM college in the United States. In China, the author has earned hospital study certificates in Chinese medicine, internal medicine and surgery at two university hospitals, and completed an advanced scholar program in a third TCM university hospital to establish the specialty of cardiology. She has gathered additional knowledge and experiences from 8 different hospitals from north to south China. Dr. Al-Shura currently teaches community health and internal medicine subjects in a medical university in China, and has a history of teaching at two other medical universities in China. Also, she is finishing a doctorate degree in medical education (expected 2013), and has a continuing education program on integrative cardiovascular Chinese medicine with NCCAOM and Florida Acupuncture Board approved courses.
