Her research interests centres on the functional analysis of language, using computational and corpus-based methodologies. Marta Carretero is Associate Professor of English Linguistics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has authored multiple publications on modality and evidentiality, and in the annotation of modal, evidential and evaluative expressions. Elena Domínguez Romero is senior Lecturer at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has worked on evidentiality and perception, modality and historical discourse stylistics. Mª Victoria Martín De La Rosa is Lecturer at the at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her main research interest centres on the use of metaphor in advertising discourse or US education policies. María Pérez Blanco is Lecturer at the University of Cantabria. Her main research interests focus on the expression of evaluation, modality and evidentiality in English and Spanish.
