20th Aniversary Edition! YOU CAN'T KEEP A GOOD MAN DOWN.... BUT YOU CAN KICK HIM OFF THE PLANET Betrayed by his government, Rick Wagner is now a Xile on an alien world. Sold into forced servitude, he now fights for the entertainment of others as a warrior in the Tore Games, on the ironically named planet Liberty. But his Muridae masters didn't stop with Rick. The governments of Earth have been selling their citizens for decades, but a forced sterilization program made them send children this time. Rick found out they had an eight-year-old girl named Susie. Her existence threatens the livelihood of the rat-like slave traders. Now Rick must turn to his new friends to help save her but the Muridae won't give up easily. Susie had to disappear... Time was running out and Rick was running out of hope...

Patrick Thomas is the author of almost 40 books including the beloved fantasy humor Murphy's Lore series, which includes Tales From Bulfinche's Pub, Fools' Day, Through The Drinking Glass, Shadow Of The Wolf, Redemption Road, Bartender Of The Gods, Nightcaps and Empty Graves - as well as the future space adventures Startenders and Constellation Prize. Co-Written with John French and Diane Raetz, his Mystic Investigators paranormal mystery series includes Bullets & Brimstone, From The Shadows and Once More Upon A Time. Assassin's Ball, his first mystery, is also co-written with John French. He also wrote the steampunk As The Gears Turn and the space epic Exile & Entrance. He co-edited New Blood and Hear Them Roar and was an editor for the magazines Fantastic Stories of the Imagination and Pirate Writings. Patrick's darkly humorous advice column Dear Cthulhu has been running since 2005 and includes the collections Have A Dark Day, Good Advice For Bad People, Cthulhu Knows Best and What Would Cthulhu Do?
