Assassin's Ball, his first mystery, is also co-written with John French. He also wrote the steampunk As The Gears Turn and the space epic Exile & Entrance. He co-edited New Blood and Hear Them Roar and was an editor for the magazines Fantastic Stories of the Imagination and Pirate Writings. Patrick's darkly humorous advice column Dear Cthulhu has been running since 2005 and includes the collections Have A Dark Day, Good Advice For Bad People, Cthulhu Knows Best and What Would Cthulhu Do? His short stories have been featured in over fifty anthologies and more than forty-five print magazines. A number of his books were part of the props department of the CSI television show and have been spot9ted on the program. Nightcaps was even thrown at a suspect's head.
