Author Biography:

Gregory L. Smith, MD, MPH, earned his medical degree from Rush Medical School in Chicago and a master's of public health from Harvard University. He completed residency training in preventive medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He is a former major in the U.S. Army and has had extensive experience and education in the field of cannabinoid medications. His previous book, Medical Cannabis: Basic Science and Clinical Applications, is a scientifically based textbook directed at educating medical students and medical professionals on the science and applications of cannabinoid medications. He has also written CBD: What You Need to Know, designed to empower the average patient and caregiver with the effects of cannabidiol (CBD). Dr. Smith consults as a scientific and medical adviser on cannabis and cannabinoid therapeutics with over a dozen companies in four countries. Kevin F. Smith, MD, MPH, completed his medical degree and then went on to receive a master's of public health from Yale University while completing residency in occupational and preventive medicine at both Yale and the University of Iowa. As a board-certified physician, Dr. Smith's 30-odd years' experience has seen his broad skillset coalesce into sought-after expertise. He has provided leadership as the medical director and the director of medical operations (DMO) for multiple healthcare systems, including a large healthcare system in Northwest Ohio ranked as a top 50 hospital system in the United States. While in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps, Dr. Kevin F. Smith reached the status of lieutenant colonel. He has been deployed several times, in the capacity of field surgeon and preventive medicine physician. Expert Consultant Nikki Wright, MBA, holds an MBA from Portland State University and a BSc from Humboldt State University. She is the chief operations officer at Medical Marijuana 411 and has spearheaded the monumental task of working with doctors and cannabinoid experts to create continuing medical education (CME) activities for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists.
