In 2004 he became the first non-Filipino to be authorised to teach by the revered Grandmaster Epifanio 'Yuli' Romo, and he is currently a Senior Instructor of the elite Bakbakan International organisation headed by Grandmaster Reynaldo S. Galang. He is a founding member of the British Council of Kali, Eskrima and Arnis Instructors (2006), which was established to provide unity among exponents.
