You may have noticed that in an American Armored Rifle Platoon you can dismount the half-track mounted machine-guns. Both the .50 and .30 cal machine-guns can be removed and used on their ground mountings, giving them an unrivaled firepower. With the new US738 pack you get two .50 cal and three .30 cal machine-guns complete with crews to represent all the half-track machine-guns for a whole platoon if you choose to dismount them (see pages 160 to 161 in the Flames Of War rule book).
With this pack you can choose to either fire the half-track machine-guns still mounted by leaving a passenger team on board or substitute a passenger team (one of your teams from your Armored Rifle Platoon) for a dismounted machine-gun team. This allows you to remove the half-track from harms way. Though if you want to return back to your original team you must remount the half-track to remount the machine-guns and retrieve your original weapons.
