Description

During the harsh Russian winter often the German soldiers’ only protection against the penetrating cold was their trusty greatcoat. It is made of heavy field-grey cloth, double breasted with 2 rows of six metal buttons additionally secured with a cloth half-belt with two buttons in the rear of the waist.

The greatcoat has two slanted slash pockets just below the waist with rounded flaps.Often additional items were worn with or over the greatcoat in an attempt to retain heat. Padded parkers of either reversible grey/white or white/splinter camouflage were often worn over the greatcoat. The splinter camouflage zeltbarn tent quarter was often used in conjunction with the greatcoat to add an element of camouflage and rain protection.Undress caps (with the flaps turned down under the chin) and other forms of protection were often worn under the helmet for warmth.

In Flames Of War

The GE720 pack contains a 3 Squad grenadier platoon, plus an additional command team so you can also assemble your company HQ.

German troops fighting on the Russian front during the Soviet Winter offensives of 1942 and 1943, in Stalingrad, on the Don or around Leningrad would be dressed this way so any Grenadier Platoon from Ostfront can represented by this pack.
