Description

Fool a Carnivore offers an innovative and distinctive approach to help vegetarians cook for their meat-loving families. Nancy believes that meat eaters enjoy food that looks and tastes like what they are used to eating. Rather than trying to win meat lovers over to unfamiliar dishes, Nancy's book focuses on how to successfully use meat analogues in classic dishes that most carnivores know and love-dishes like gumbo, lasagna, meat loaf, chicken cacciatore, and chili. Fool a Carnivore includes helpful product and nutrition information to help cooks understand how to successfully use meat analogues-the vegetarian products that stand-in for meat in her recipes. This fascinating cookbook will help even inexperienced cooks create delicious meatless meals that will fool the carnivores in their family.

Author Biography:

Nancy Olah has been cooking since she was eight years old. Nancy has been a vegetarian since 1974, and delights in re-creating familiar, classic meat recipes using a growing variety of vegetarian products found in most stores. After serving meatless lasagna at a covered dish supper and fooling everyone into believing it was a traditional meat dish, Nancy decided to share her recipes in a cookbook. Nancy has developed delicious recipes that will satisfy both vegetarians and carnivores alike, eliminating the need for families to cook separate meals. She is currently working on her next cookbook and follow-up to Fool a Carnivore. Nancy is a graduate of Oberlin College and The University of Michigan Law School. She is an attorney and practices commercial real estate, sustainable development, and business law in North Carolina and South Carolina. When not cooking, working, or scuba diving, Nancy volunteers her time with many organizations, including CREW Network and U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Charlotte Region Chapter where she serves as 2012 Chair of the Board of Directors. Nancy lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina with her carnivore husband and son.
