Author Biography:

Tim Berthold, MPH, has worked closely with community health workers for over 35 years. He supervised CHWs in public health settingss in the United States and internationally. Tim served as a faculty member and Program Coordinator for the CHW certificate program at City College of San Francisco.  Darouny Somsanith, MPH, is the coordinator of the Community Health Worker (CHW) Program and faculty member within the Health Education Department at City College of San Francisco. She started her public health career as a CHW and has over 20 years experience working on issues of workforce development and supporting the diverse training needs of community health workers.
