'From Memory' deals with the fascination for memory in the worlds of science and art. On the one hand we shed a light on the age-old search: from the medieval art of memory, over the earliest psychological research, to contemporary experiments with artificial intelligence. On the other hand, artists draw inspiration from memories. Libraries, encyclopaedias and the internet are all attempts to collect information and thus help our memories. With contributions by Christine Van Broeckhoven on Alzheimers and Marc Ruyters on contemporary art and the works of people such as Koenraad Tinel, Ronny Delrue, Hans Op de Beeck and Sofie Muller. Published in cooperation with the Dr. Guislain Museum and in the same series as the highly acclaimed books 'The Exotic Human' and 'Hidden Worlds: Outsider art'.
