Author Biography:
Yunus Cengel is the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Adnan Menderes University ADU in Aydin, Turkey, and Professor Emeritus at the University of Nevada, Reno. Before joining ADU in 2012, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Yildiz Technical University YTU and as Advisor to President at Scientific and Technological Research Council TUBITAK. Prior to returning Turkey, he served as a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Reno UNR for 18 years and as the director of the Industrial Assessment Center at UNR for several years.
Dr. Cengel is the author or coauthor of numerous widely adopted textbooks, six published with McGraw-Hill. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada.
Mehmet Kanoglu is visiting Professor at the American University of Sharjah. He has taught courses in thermal sciences at University of Nevada, Reno; University of Ontario Institute of Technology; and University of Gaziantep, Turkey. His research interests are renewable energy, geothermal energy systems, hydrogen production and liquefaction, gas liquefaction systems, power plants, cogeneration and energy efficiency. He is the co-author of the books Refrigeration Systems and Applications (Wiley) and Efficiency Analysis of Energy Systems (Springer).
John M. Cimbala is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park. His research areas include experimental and computational fluid mechanics and heat transfer, turbulence, turbulence modeling, turbomachinery, indoor air quality, and air pollution control. Dr. Cimbala is the coauthor of four other textbooks: Indoor Air Quality Engineering: Environmental Health and Control of Indoor Pollutants (CRC Press), andFluid Mechanics: Fundamentals and Applications, Fourth Edition, Essentials of Fluid Mechanics, and Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences, Fifth Edition, all published by McGraw-Hill. In addition to receiving several teaching excellence awards, Dr. Cimbala is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), and the American Physical Society (APS).
