Ever since I first watched Ghost In The Shell 2 on Cartoon Network on late nights I've been totally hooked on the philosophy and depth each story takes. This sequel concentrates more on Batou. Again the psycho analysis of self in each individual's own humanity is brought into question whilst constant upgrades are replacing our biological bodies to android parts. As with every network there are problems of corruption and as usual its up to Sector 9 to solve the problem as quickly as possible no holds barred. Despite his militaristic coldness there is a nicer, warmer, caring Batou who nurtures a deep love for one lost to him, and yet cares for his high maintenance pet Basset Hound (I love the scene where he feeds her). One thing I find worth noting about Ghost In The Shell 2 is that this is one Anime movie that transcends all cartoon boundaries and sets itself apart for a new genre of Anime not likely to be repeated.
