Author Biography:

Adriano Berengo founder of Glasstress and president of Fondazione Berengo, opened his glass workshop on the Venetian island of Murano in 1989. Inspired by the great collector and honorary Venetian, Peggy Guggenheim, who said glass was too good a material to leave only in the hands of shopkeepers and craftsmen, he has since invited artists from all over the world to create artworks there. Louise Bourgeois, Tony Cragg and Ai Weiwei are just a few who've been lured to the studio.
