Formed by the rhythm section of the disbanded stoner doom metal three piece band Sleep who were pioneers of the stoner rock movement.
Drummer Chris Hakius and bass player Al Cisneros released three records together as Om. Due to those ever popular “creative differences” Hakius then left OM in 2008.
