The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. The God of Christians, as Pascal noted, is not the God of philosophers but the gritty God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is finally and pivotally a God who embodies Himself in human flesh and bone--who in Jesus of Nazareth gets under our skin.
