Description

To stop a killer dead in his tracks, it will take another killer with a nothing-to-lose attitude and the same instincts for survival. Welcome to the wild West… A horse-drawn cage of prisoners is en route to the damnable hellhole of Yuma Prison. Among the shackled are John McKay (Emmy and Golden Globe winner Burt Reynolds, Boogie Nights), looking at 10 years for murder in self-defense, a desperate yellow-back named McCordy, and vicious Billy Bucklin (David Figlioli, The X Files), facing 99 years and a day for so many crimes even the Cavalry’s lost count. When the wagon is ambushed by Bucklin’s men, he and McCordy take off for the hills leaving McKay for dead. This scores McKay points with Marshal Nate Hutchinson (Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Bruce Dern, The Great Gatsby). Hutch wants Bucklin’s head and needs ace gunman McKay to help. His reward—freedom and his son, assistant deputy Joshua (Seth Peterson, Providence), the boy Hutch has been raising since his dad was put behind bars. When it comes to spreading fear, “Bucklin’s Rangers” aren’t wasting time. They’ve busted an express company safe, gunned down two miners, sprung an axe murderer from jail, and sold off kidnap victim Liz Kennedy (Amy Jo Johnson, Felicity) for quick cash. Now Hutch and McKay must round up their own gang, which includes Joshua, the baby-faced tracker who’s ready to risk his own life for his father’s, and Liz herself, armed with a sawed-off shotgun and loaded with vengeance. They have a rough trail ahead of them since Bucklin’s working a hard scheme on the Mexican border to join forces with a ruthless revolutionary and forge a new independent nation built on stolen gold and innocent blood. It’s one hell of a vision—and it’s going to take one hell of a posse to stop them. Acclaimed for his authentic trailblazing vision of the wild West, writer Frank Q. Dobbs (Johnson County War, Streets of Laredo, The Last Chance) directs and co-writes this dynamic re-teaming of Bruce Dern and Burt Reynolds—presenting dynamite entertainment.
