Street smart former dancer turned con artist, Laurina Hawks, receives a cryptic message from her sister who is working abroad in America. Turning to her brother Abel for help in decoding the message, they discover that she is in danger. Undaunted, Laurina decides to go to Phoenix Arizona to rescue her. Since travel airfare and lodging are expensive, and her funds are low, she must pull one last con to finance the trip. An accident after the meeting propels her into unfamiliar surroundings where danger lurks at every turn. Each person she meets has their own agenda. Now, someone wants her death. As her resolve to save her sister is tested again and again, Laurina soon discovers that there are worse things than having Scotland Yard on your tail. Author Biography:

Rael studied Music (Classical Guitar) at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt as well as Jazz guitar at the Jazz Academy of Eddy Marron. He was employed at the Staatstheater Darmstadt as stage musician and worked as a composer for several stagings. At the same time, he was the leader of an art-rock band named Electric Horus. In 1984 he wrote, produced and directed a mystery movie with Actors from the local theater and an old celeb: Eddie Constantine. 1985 he went to writing and became Substitute Chief Redactor with the Film magazine Filmfaust in Frankfurt/M. Some years later he founded a computer game company with two mates and wrote stories and music for video games. He also worked there as a Level designer. 1999 his first book was published by Elefantenpress, Berlin, a mystery crime novel named Shabu. Since 1999 Rael published two crime/mystery novels, a fantasy novel, short stories, sci-fi novels and more with several publisher houses. In 2006 he began outlining of Hawks Effect, first in his native language but then in English, because he always wanted to be sure, to have the biggest possible audience for this particular story. was born in Wyoming, where he currently lives with his family. Since he was a boy he has been a voracious reader and prolific writer, having created dozens of admittedly horrible stories during his youth. He enjoys hunting and camping with his family and appreciates the privacy his home state affords. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Frank J. Williams III attended the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in creative writing, where his stories recalling neighborhood experiences were cited by an instructor as being reminiscent of August Wilson's works. After marriage and a move to Minnesota, Frank began taking courses at The Loft Literary Center in downtown Minneapolis. His hard work culminated into several appearances at the Camden Colloquium where he received positive reviews for his stories and writing style. When he is not writing, Frank enjoys life as a Shamanic practitioner, reveling in the connection between human beings and all life on earth. He is a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, an avid Japanese Animation aficionado, and staff volunteer for Anime Detour, a yearly convention sponsored by Anime Twin Cities. A self-proclaimed Geek, and granola making hippie, Frank and his wife Terry also own and manage their own organic foods business, and are enthusiastic supporters of Second Harvest Heartland, a statewide food shelf for the disadvantaged.
