Two people separated by age, distance and culture. Both suffering emotionally. Martin at home in Ireland, grieving for his wife who had died some seven years previously, and Joy a bar girl in Thailand with all that entails. In the years following his wife's death, Martin has sought solace through spirituality and has become a collector of reverent figurines. He travels to Thailand to attend an auction and is robbed by a street thief. In giving chase, he finds himself in Joy's bar and an odd but honest friendship is born.
