Her career is taking a new and exciting direction, and she is happy living in her childhood home near the ocean on Cape Cod. Her daughter, Aria, is in a relationship with Trevor Young, and when Athena travels with them to Texas to meet Trevor's family, Athena's patience is put to the test. Trevor's much older brother, Troy is a Texas rancher and independent contractor. He is successful and comfortable in his life. He also questions Athena and pushes her out of her comfort zone. Athena discovers she likes the challenge, but she cannot get involved with a man who lives on the other end of the country and who will soon be her daughter's brother in law, so she flies home.
