Anna & The King of Siam Movie Review

“Before it became a popular musical with Yul Brynner, Margaret Landon's book about the British Governess was a skillful, well acted melodrama by Rex Harrison (in his Hollywood debut) and Irene Dunne” Emanuel Levy

The Keys of the Kingdom
A young priest, Father Chisholm is sent to China to establish a Catholic parish among the non-Christian Chinese. He encounters hostility, isolation, disease, poverty and a variety of set-backs which humble him, but make him more determined than ever to succeed.

  • 3 other Oscar nominations.

The Keys of the Kingdom Movie Reviews:

“With the help of an Oscar nomination, Gregory Peck becamea major star after appearing in Fox's religious bio-epic, in which he plays the heroic Scottish priest, Father Francis Chisholm.” Emanuel Levy

“Peck's star-making turn… earned him a Best Actor nod and established his screen persona as a ruggedly decent, dignified underdog.” Decent Films Guide

“… a beautiful and uplifting story with uniformly strong performances from its brilliant cast.” DVD Review

The Hawaiians
The intertwined lives of two kindred souls with ambition begins when Captain Whip Hoxworth discovers that Nyuk Tsin has been smuggled aboard as part of cargo on The Carthaginian, which he captains, a cargo supposed to consist of only male Chinese workers bound for Hawaii.
