Description

Honey Lump a riveting story of love Redemption Honey Lump is a historical fiction that transverses America's social landscape from Jim Crow to the Great Migration of blacks from the rural south to the industrial north. The central character Honey Lump deals with the timeless issues of independence, freedom, love and duty. Most of the story is set on the Mississippi, Delta in the small town of Clarksdale. It begins during a time when Blues was in its infancy, expressing the raw pain and frustration of blacks in the rural south. The novel continues with the music as its backdrop. The rhythms shake the moral foundation of a nation within a nation to the great cities of New Orleans, St. Louis, Chicago and New York. She learns the greatest of life's lessons through travels and mistakes. As Honey becomes entangled in relationships based on selfish gain and mutual understandings, she finds in the end that altruistic love is not defined by rules, bound by boundaries or controlled by logic. Honey discovers the lesson that all souls are sent here to learn; selfless compassion of all that is unconditional, is the gift and blessing which brings us closer to our purpose. "I've been searching for the words to say to describe how I feel (after reading the book) all I can say is that I feel honored." ---Nikia Ware, Reader "It reads like a movie, I can picture the scenes." ---Kenneth Chandler Jr., Reader "The Author's description of Honey Lump is so vivid. With each page I wonder what is going to happen next." ---Dwylett Montgomery "I couldn't put it down." Brittany Boyd
