Description

When bodies of dismembered managers turn up as superstore displays, reporter Hillary Broome's articles on the grisly murders catapult her byline from California into the national limelight and threaten to expose a shameful secret that could ruin her career-as well as bring her to the crazed killer's attention. Hillary must connect up with detective Ed Kiffin in a race to catch the insane cutthroat before he tortures and kills a woman who's begun to fill a void in Hillary's heart, left by the mother who abandoned her years ago. HOUSE OF CUTS builds towards a powerful climax, reminiscent of SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. --Susan Rushton, Auburn Journal Columnist Would make a great movie! --Zoe Keithley, Story Workshop(R) master teacher

Author Biography:

Rebelling against a Goody Two-shoes upbringing, June Gillam explores the darkness of this journey we call life. Her first poetry collection, SO SWEET AGAINST YOUR TEETH, is in print under the name June Comarsh Gillam. After she realized many of her poems wanted to be stories, she began writing short fiction and is published in outlets such as METAL SCRATCHES and AMERICA'S INTERCULTURAL MAGAZINE. She is now working on a series of thrillers featuring Hillary Broome, a redheaded reporter in her mid-thirties who writes for a Central California paper and serves as the journalism advisor at a local community college. June Gillam welcomes visits to www.junegillam.com and replies to contacts from the site.
