Description

Long ago in Africa, the warthog was a very different creature than the one you see today. He looked a lot like a pig, and he thought he was very handsome indeed. In fact, he thought he was the most beautiful creature in all the savanna. He insulted Dik-Dik, Waterbuck, Baboon, and Lion. So when he got into a sticky situation, nobody wanted to help him. How did he get those warts? You'll have to read the book to find out! This is the Book 1 of the Alina's Folk Tales for Kids series. Recommended for children age 3 - 8 Contains fun animal facts, puzzle, maze, and drawing pages Set in the African savanna, this folk tale is full of whimsical, colorful illustrations of the animal neighbors. Warthog learns the hard way how to get along with them. You'll find out why he does some of the things he does in nature. Children's folktales are classics for a reason. Kids enjoy finding out what happens to the often naughty animals in these tall tales. I bet you remember some folk stories from your childhood. Books make great gifts. Read this one to your child, spend quality time together, and you'll create memories to last a lifetime. Be sure to add your own funny voices for each character, to make it even more memorable and fun. This book also contains several activities, including a puzzle, maze, and drawing pages. There are also interesting and fun animal facts. Learn about the animals of the African savannah, such as: What is the black spot next to Dik-Dik's eye? What's a group of lions called? What do porcupines do when they sense danger? Recommended for children age three to eight.

Author Biography:

Alina Niemi is an author, illustrator, and artist. When she is not developing new recipes, reading, or working in the garden, she is trying to learn new dances and find more time. So far, she hasn't found any...although she has found that young trees will die if you do not water them. Weeds, however, will not. As a young girl, she spent all her allowance on books. She no longer gets an allowance, but she still spends a lot of her money on books. And in addition to reading them, now she gets to write, illustrate, and publish them! She is the author of several coloring books, The New Scoop (a vegan ice cream cookbook), The Hawaii Doodle Book, Low-Water Veggie Gardening, My Attitude of Gratitude Daily Journal (a blank gratitude journal with prompts), and the Let's Count series of books, including the popular Let's Count Trucks, which helps preschool and toddler children learn to count with fun pictures of objects they will recognize around them.
