Description

Hybrid Nanofillers for Polymer Reinforcement: Synthesis, Assembly, Characterization, and Applications provides a targeted approach to hybrid nanostructures, enabling the development of these advanced nanomaterials for specific applications. The book begins by reviewing the status of hybrid nanostructures, their current applications, and future opportunities. This is followed by chapters examining synthesis and characterization techniques, as well as interactions within nanohybrid systems. The second part of the book provides detailed chapters each highlighting a particular application area and discussing the preparation of various hybrid nano systems that can potentially be utilized in that area. The last chapters turn towards notable state-of-the-art hybrid nanomaterials and their properties and applications. This book is a valuable resource for researchers and advanced students across polymer science, nanotechnology, rubber technology, chemistry, sustainable materials, and materials engineering, as well as scientists, engineers, and R&D professionals with an interest in hybrid nanostructures or advanced nanomaterials for a industrial application.

Author Biography:

He also serves as the Chairman of Trivandrum Engineering Science and Technology Research Park (TrESPARK) in Kerala, India. Formerly, he was the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University. His ground-breaking research has covered the areas of polymer science and engineering, polymer nanocomposites, elastomers, polymer blends, interpenetrating polymer networks, polymer membranes, green composites and nanocomposites, nanomedicine, and green nanotechnology. Prof. Thomas has received several national and international awards in recognition for his work and recently received Honoris Causa (DSc) from the University of South Brittany, Lorient, France, in recognition for his contributions to polymer science and engineering. Prof. Thomas has published more than 1400 peer-reviewed research papers, reviews, and book chapters. He has also edited and written 210 books. His H-index stands at 139, accompanied by a citation count of 43,000. Prof. Allisson Saiter-Fourcin is a full professor of physics since 2017. She is responsible for the Department “Desordered Systems and Polymers” of the GPM laboratory (UMR CNRS 6634) since 2022, and responsible for the International Master’s Degree in Materials Sciences since 2016, at the University of Normandy, Rouen, France. She completed her PhD in Physics of Materials in 2002 at the University of Normandy, Rouen, France. Her research interests include advanced nanomaterials, glass transition, calorimetric analysis, glass forming liquids, structural relaxation phenomena, and physical ageing. She has 83 publications in international journals and has written two books. KP Jibin is a Senior Researcher at the School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He completed his Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry in 2016, and was ranked first in the MSc Analytical Chemistry at Mahatma Gandhi University. Jibin has presented several papers at national and international conferences. As part of his work on nanomaterials, he has been involved in projects on optical studies of samarium complexes, synthesized using curcumin, isolated from turmeric extract as ligand, and on the synthesis of Mg and Co co-doped ZnO-based diluted magnetic semi-conductors, for optoelectronic applications. Currently he is working in the area of hybrid polymer nanocomposites for engineering applications. He has published 10 journal articles, more than 10 book chapters and edited two books.
