Have you ever wondered what your life would have been like today if you knew "back then" what you know now? There are things that we face today that could have been avoided had we made better choices in our earlier years. The choices we make today have a tremendous effect on our tomorrow. How do we correct what has been incorrect in our lives for so long? How do we recover from a loss that seems unbearable? How do we overcome from what seems insurmountable? How do we let go of the things and the people we hold so dear to our hearts, but are really the most destructive for us? How do we walk away and start all over again? In my first book, "The Re-Making of An Addict", I shared how God walked me through addiction and re-made me into His Image. In this book, whether you are recovering from addiction, the loss of a loved, divorce, or any other trauma, you will discover how to face your trials like a "good soldier", recoup what was lost, and realize that EVERY HARDSHIP & TRIAL WAS MEANT TO PUSH YOU INTO PURPOSE & DESTINY!
Author Biography:
Cheryl Thacker Brown, born in The Bronx, New York on March 8th, 1967, is the youngest child of the late Willie Lee Thacker and the late Mattie Boyd Thacker, and was also born on their 17th wedding anniversary. She has 4 sisters, 5 brothers, and 2 brothers who are deceased. Although she was raised in church, singing on the choir and regularly attending services, she was strongly influenced by the environment where she lived. By age 11, she took her first alcoholic drink; by 13, she was smoking marijuana and snorting cocaine; and by 17, she was a full blown crack addict. By age 21, she became pregnant with her first child, and she continued to smoke crack cocaine daily. She had her first daughter in 1989 in her 7th month of pregnancy, and though the child was only 4lbs., 13 oz., and had to be kept in the hospital for several days, she survived! She continued to smoke crack during her next pregnancy, and in 1991, she had a son. He, too, had survived during his mother's addiction. Two weeks after giving birth to her son, she took her children and moved to Ohio. She seriously wanted to be free, but crack made one last attempt to destroy her destiny. She began using again, and once again realized she was pregnant in 1995. By now, her family had given up hope of her ever recovering and was planning to take her children as soon as she gave birth. BUT GOD HAD ANOTHER PLAN! On February 18th, 1995, she took her last hit of crack cocaine, called upon the Name of Jesus to deliver her, and, TO GOD BE THE GLORY; she has never taken another hit! She went after God as fiercely as she went after crack, and in 2000, she heard the call to preach God's Word. In July, 2011, Cheryl published her first book, "The Re-Making of an Addict". Soon after the release of her book, God led Elder Cheryl to start "Chosen 4*His*Glory Ministries, Inc.", right in the living room of her own home! In 2014, Elder Cheryl published the first book of her series of "Life Lessons: Things I've Learned Along The Way"; "The Re-Making of An Addict: Revised Edition"; and "I Was Just Tryna' Get Off Crack!"!! Currently residing in Ohio, she is a mother, grandmother, and deliverance minister who has dedicated her life to assisting others to overcome spiritual and physical bondage through the preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 121:1-2-"I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES UNTO THE HILLS FROM WHENCE COMETH MY HELP. MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD!"
