A woman who has no memory of her past, but appears to have been born a month ago fully grown. A god looking for a mother for his child before he becomes mortal and a prisoner who escapes by accident make for a movie that is unusual, but also enthralling. There is a lot of CGI, but it works well for this particular movie. Highly recommended.

Description

Immortal (French: Immortel ad vitam) is a 2004 English language, but French-produced science fiction film, directed by artist Enki Bilal and based upon his graphic novel La Foire aux immortels (The Carnival of Immortals). The film combines live action footage with computer animation.

New York in the year 2095 has evolved into a comic-book like, sci-fi metropolis. A giant pyramid hovers over the city, where the Gods of Ancient Egypt dwell, unknown to the mortals below. One of the gods, Horus', status as an Immortal is revoked. With his time running out, Horus has unfinished business to settle in the city against a backdrop of political intrigue, corporate corruption and impending revolution.
