Indigenous identity and a new Europe in a fully globalised world. All across the worldwide political spectrum, we find ecological consciousness on one side, and cultural consciousness on the other. But the connection between cultures and their ancestral homelands is deeply rooted in our bodies - they are inseparable. Preservation of the natural world, fighting climate change and protecting natural habitats must unite with the preservation of authentic cultural diversity. As we are fully immersed in the process of globalisation and the coming together of our world into a hyper-connected unity, we must now become aware of how this process unfolds and cease being controlled by it. Instead, we must rise above it and guide it, carefully preserving the tremendous richness of all cultures the world knows today. Especially in Europe where, because of our free, equal, open, high-trust, low-corruption societies, we at once attract the entire world and at once we are vulnerable to lose those very qualities.
