I don't know, is it just a movie of the same name or is it years after the first one and in between the first and the new one. Story line is not bad, the acting is ok.

Description

Aliens invade, this time delivering a clear ultimatum. The fate of humanity hangs in the balance as the U.S. President and citizens decide if these aliens are to be trusted …or feared.

Independents' Day Reviews

“Directed by Sharknado 3 & 4 director of photography Laura Beth Love, this Independence Day knock off, might be short on budget but not on fun.” – Slack Jaw Punks

“Using the Independence Day format as a blueprint scripter Geoff Meed had delivered a literate screenplay with sly references to Godard and the inspired title. Direction from Laura Beth Love is above the norm for the level and most important, the film is a watchable 90 minutes that doesn’t feel like a torturous 3 hours.” – Movie Mavericks

“In the end, it’s called Independents’ Day, it’s a mockbuster. Everybody knows what to expect from it. But I think this time people will find it’s got just a little bit more, too” – B Movie Nation
