James Herbert was one of the most enduringly popular authors. His books sell in their hundreds of thousands across the world, are made into films, and have turned him into arguably the most successful writer of the entire horror genre. Yet despite his worldwide fan base, surprisingly little is known about the man himself. Craig Cabell has written an in-depth and fascinating biography of the man with his full cooperation and before his recent death James Herbert granted the author a number of rare interviews. The result is an incredibly frank and revealing portrait of one of the giants of contemporary popular fiction.

Author Biography:

Craig Cabell is the author of The Doctors: Who's Who, Ian Fleming's Secret War, and Terry Pratchett. Ingrid Pitt (1937-2010) was a longtime friend of James Herbert's. An actress best known for her work in horror films of the 1960s and 1970s, she was also a writer, whose works include a screenplay based on Herbert's The Dark.
