Joe Cocker on DVD

Joe Cocker is one of rock and roll's enduring performers. His gutsy, gravelly vocal style and unique dynamic stage presence has endeared him to music fans around the world. From his working class roots in Sheffield, he made his way into the music business, hooking up with Christ Stainton with whom he recorded 'Marjorine'. Shortly thereafter they hit the big time when they recorded The Beatles 'With a Little Help From My Friends' featuring guest performers Jimmy Page and Steve Winwood. The title track is arguably Cocker's best, it became a major highlight of the Woodstock Festival in 1969. Joe Cocker's ability to take a song, rework it from his soul and make it entirely his own, is a talent that few performers have - the opportunity to see him perform live is one not to be missed.
