Marshalette R. Wise is from Tuskegee, Alabama. She has a B.A. in English Language Arts Education from Tuskegee University, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Minnesota, and CELTA from the University of Cambridge - Teaching House NYC. Marshalette is the founder of WISE Scholars Foundation, a nonprofit organization that assists socioeconomically disadvantaged and at-risk youth with dropout prevention, school completion, and college attainment. She has established several sister companies to help in this endeavor, such as WISE Scholars Publishing, a publisher of adult, young adult, and children's books; WISE Scholars Mentors, former at-risk individuals who are now successful in careers that serve as mentors for current at-risk students; and WISE Scholars Films, a production company that highlights educational and community-related topics in an informative and creative way. Marshalette R. Wise has teaching experience at elementary and secondary schools in America as well as internationally at institutions and universities in South Korea and Saudi Arabia. She is the author of Johnny's Birthday Surprise, Much Hairdo About Nothing: Father-Daughter Dance, and Bye-Bye Big Bully.
