Description

The book deals with three poems of the "Corpus Theocriteum": Idyll 20 (Boukoliskos), 21 (Fishermen) and 27 (Love dialogue), which have been discussed in previous research almost exclusively from the viewpoint of questioning their authenticity. Detached from this problem, Robert Kirstein undertakes a linguistic, conceptual and composition-technical examination, highlights the points of contact of these poems with other poems in the "Corpus Theocriteum" as well as their relationship to the Theocritean "Bucolics", and challenges the previous literary-aesthetic appraisal factors.
