Description

Boys, girls, soccer Moms, soccer Dads, coaches, and anyone in love with the exciting game of soccer will find this information-packed book to be an invaluable resource. Geared especially toward children just learning the game, but also for those who want to know it better, this easy to understand, cleverly illustrated book includes the history of the game; the basics of how to play, including dribbling, passing, kicking, and their skills; and explanations of team strategies for more competitive players. Also included are interesting bits of soccer trivia, minibiographies of the great players, and the lowdown on Olympic soccer and the World Cup, as well as college and Major League Soccer in the United States. Everything is here that a young player and fan will want to know about. With the help of this companion, kids will have a great time practicing, playing, competing, and improving in their favorite sport! "Having worked for the past twenty-one years with children and their parents in taking on the challenge of this game, I strongly recommend Kids' Book of Soccer." --Joe Machnik, director, No. 1 Camps (named top soccer camp in 1996 by Sports Illustrated for Kids) "This book is a valuable tool for coaches of soccer beginners and the beginners themselves." --Fran O'Leary, men's soccer coach, University of Massachusetts
