KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC is a fast-paced, futuristic, action, adventure series which pits the forces of good against evil as the Knights of Athena battle the Knights of Ares for control of the sacred Golden Cloth of Sagittarius…and the Word!! Led by Bronze Knight SEIYA, the Knights of Athena draw upon their amazing martial arts skills as well as their mystical powers, each keyed to a different sign of the Zodiac, as they attempt to defeat PHOENIX and his Black Knights, who would do anything to gain the Cloth of Sagittarius. EPISODES: MIRACULOUS REBIRTH AND COSMIC FRIENDSHIP SEIYA and SHIRYU fight on and Seiya finds a weak spot in Shiryu’s technique. While delivering the Rising Dragon he leaves a space over his heart unprotected. Seiya hits that spot with his Meteor Punch a few times, and Shiryu goes down. Seiya collapses as well, although he is proclaimed the winner. But as both are being carried out, Shunrei, Shiryu’s foster sister, tells Seiya that the dragon tattoo on Shiryus’s back is fading. It if vanishes, Shiryu will lose his knightly powers forever! THE RETURN OF THE PHOENIX Seiya is recovering in the hospital when Shiryu stops by to warn of coming danger. In the arena, Unicorn and Shun are fighting in the ring. Shun is winning, with the help of his Nebula Chains. Suddenly, the chains indicate the presence of danger. The box containing the Gold Cloth opens, and Ikki Phoenix emerges. Ikki is Shuns long lost brother, who was trained on the horrible Island of Doom. Laughing evilly, Ikki attacks Shun. THEFT OF THE GOLD CLOTH Ikkie attacks Shun, but Unicorn intervenes, as he is in the middle of a match with Shun. Ikki knocks him out with a single punch. In a flashback, we learn that ikki was a protective older brother to Shun, who was something of a ‘crybaby’. Shun was supposed to be sent to the Island of Doom, but Ikki volunteered to go in his place. Whatever happened to him there, he still holds a grudge against Sienna and her servant Tatsumi. Nachi Wolf next challenges Ikki, who uses a hypnotic spell to defeat him. Then Ikkis Black Knights appear. With Ikki, they steal the coveted Gold Cloth and disappear! BATTLE FOR THE GOLD CLOTH Seiya, Shun, Shiryu and Hyoga pursue Ikki and his Black Knights across the city. Ikki attacks a police helpicopter and he and his men escape to their waterfront warehouse hideout. Seiya finds them just as Ikki is putting on the Gold Cloth, whose powers he hopes will make him unbeatable. They fight and the rest of the Bronze Knights arrive just as Ikki and his men run off with the golden armor, in pieces. The Bronze Knights track down several of the Black Knights and defeat them, regaining about half of the gold cloth. Meanwhile, Shiryu goes on a quest to get his cloth and Seiya’s repaired so they can fight with full power.
