Author Biography:

The author is an Englishman who has spent his adult life in France. He traveled widely during the Cold War in countries of the East Bloc, including totalitarian Albania, and stayed in a Bulgarian hospital. He lived and worked in Hungary and in Russia in the difficult conditions that followed the dissolution of the Soviet Union, where he witnessed an attempted coup d'état. He is married, with two daughters and four grandchildren, retired and living in Toulouse. Antonin Grook est un Anglais qui a passé sa vie adulte en France. Il a beaucoup voyagé durant la guerre froide dans les pays du bloc de l'Est, y compris en Albanie totalitaire, et séjourné dans un hôpital bulgare. Il a vécu et travaillé en Hongrie et en Russie dans les conditions difficiles qui ont suivi la dissolution de l'Union soviétique, où il a été témoin d'une tentative de coup d'état. Il est marié, avec deux filles et quatre petits-enfants, retraité, vivant à Toulouse.
