"Fantastic"

Rockstar are undoubtebly the kings of sandbox and they dont dissapoint with LA Noire. The game is set in 1950's Los Angeles and like Grand Theft Auto 4 and the excellent Red Dead Redemption the game is a sandbox city with the level of detail quite stunning. Where LA Noire differs from previous games is there is a structured story which you work through. This means you are always on a mission (or in this game a case). You can roam the streets during the cases and take on some side call outs but solving the case is always your primary focus. Working on the cases is very satisfying whether you are searching for evidence, interviewing a suspect or in true rockstar style chasing a suspect on foot or in a car. Interrigation is perhaps the highlight of the game. The level of detail in the face model is sensational. You have to read suspect reactions before believing their answer or accusing them of lying. This is quite a challenge and makes the game replayable as you will want to pick up everything you missed first time aroud. Apart from one audio drop out ive encountered no bugs wheras with RDR id found a host by this stage. A clear contender for game of the year.

"Outstanding!"
5 stars"

This brilliantly designed game, set in the 1940's scandalous city of Los Angeles, is one of the best games I have ever played and I have 10 plus gaming platforms and over 100 games.

You play as detective Cole Phelps, A new addition to the L.A.P.D forces fresh from the army. You start off as a on the beat cop, but only for a while before advancing to the position of Traffic, Homocide, Vice and finally Arson, busting criminals using your cunning wit, interrogation, driving skills and skill with weapons, all the while learning about Cole's back story.

With many different vehicles, captivating cases and chases, you'll enjoy hours of fun with this brand new crime thriller from the makers of Grand theft auto, red dead redemption and much more.

"Exciting Detective Game"
5 stars"

This game was so exciting to play the story missions was really good but i did find the Interrogations to be quite difficult you had to get all the questions right but it didn't matter if you didn't. I would recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of the Rockstar games and Grand Theft Auto 4.

"40's Detective Excelence"

Although not entirely what one would expect of the makers of Grand Theft Auto, L.A. Noire is very gratifying. To best describe my sentiments towards this game I would say Police Quest (tm-) meets GTA. The AI is on the ball and had me fooled on many occasion, the game play is interesting and draws you in. The only thing I found which could be seen as both a positive as a negative is that the story line drew me from the extra missions and finding the hidden items

"over hyped"
2 stars"

I don't understand what the hype with this game is. This game is everywhere, billboards all over the stores, everywhere. Graphics are good, city looks great but gameplay gets boring. I don't see any replay value in this game either. I'd say if you want to try this game, hire it for a week, beat it then thank me you didn't throw your hundred bucks away.

"Best storyline and graphics"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Best storyline and graphics game ive played so far, the face expressions are right on, there are only a few dislikes in my opinion, first is changing characters in which you play with, prefer playing with main character cole phelps and the idea that the main guy or you die at the end, this made me angry hahahaha honestly, and another thing is that it doesnt show his wife and kids anymore because cole cheats on her, but overall a fantastic game, hope rockstar releases a similar game after

"Exciting Things to Come"
4 stars"

Love the new concept in this game of reading people's faces in order to determine the truth. It works really well though it can be clunky in places. Good to see some thinking outside the box. While there is quite a bit of the standard “run around and do missions” approach, the focus on characters makes the game different.

This new technology makes me pretty excited about advances in the future.

"Great Game"

This game has structure unlike most because the game is dedicated to its main story line.

"Driving story and compelling gameplay"

Just finished playing the game, and getting the trophies – what a trip. Amongst the best games I have recently played, and the diversity of gameplay, including predicting truth or lies in interviews and interrogations adds a real twist to the gameplay. The storyline is great to, starts out reasonably straight forward to allow you to get into it, and then the developers introduce complexity, conspiracy and downright lies to ensure that the game and the truth is as muddy as it can be in the world outside of LA Noire. Brilliant game, great twists, highly recommend playing this one

the tech behind the facial expressions in this game has to be seen to be believed. the game is also great fun for people who dont generally like open world games like me with the options it gives. great fun.
