The series introduces readers to stories from other cultures and encourages them to find where the story comes from on a map. This tale comes from North America. Eagle the brave loves animals and birds. But when he sails to an island with a stranger to go bird-watching, he gets a nasty surprise... The tale has echoes of Jack the Giant-Killer - will a small boy defeat a mighty giant Puzzles at the back of the book encourage children to reread and retell the story in their own words, and helps build vocabulary by matching words to characters.
