the first one was great the second one is unbelieveable. the gameplay excellent. the AI director is new and improved and the new guns and melee weapons involve new ways to kill kill kill. longer levels mean more kills in one day i killed over 10,000 zombies. must buy for all gamers greatest thing since sliced bread!!!!!!!

If you love nothing more than a game with plenty of guts, gore and plenty of Infected Zombies to slay with a huge arsonal of weapons (Including Chainsaws and Samarai Swords) along with traditional shotguns machine guns and pipe bombs (ohhhh yes) you will love this game. I myself have spent days of gameplay already and not even a hint of it getting old. a definately recommend this game. (graphics are absolutely sick!)

Despite the controversies surrounding Left 4 dead 2 it has more than proven that it is more than an expansion. In this second installment in the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter saga developed by valve, the creators ave built on feedback from players of the previous(and best-selling) title.

The renowned AI director has been upgraded even further so that now your gaming experience is different every time you play due to the AI director's ability to change: the amount of infected attacking you, the weapons that spawn in different locations, the path you take to complete a level and even the tactics used by infected to gain an advantage on survivors.

The addition of 20 new weapons to the game including models fashioned after AK-47's, SPAS 12's, Mossberg shotguns and even a grenade launcher gives the game not only more variety but also a new level of tactical game play. The addition of 10 new melee weapons allows for more bloodthirsty players to dismember and ultimately obliterate the zombie horde.

The game also includes 3 new special infected to make the game more difficult. These include: the jockey who ‘rides’ a survivor towards environmental hazards and other infected, the charger who uses his unusually large arm to grab survivors and pummel them into the ground and the spitter who, as you might have guessed, spits an acid-like substance that burns and damages survivors.

There are also more diverse campaigns that are all connected to follow an intriguing storyline. There are 5 campaigns in-game including an abandoned theme park, a sugar mill and a jungle bayou. These all make the game more varied experience and allow players to experiment with different tactics.

The game also include 2 new game modes that are Scavenge and Realism mode. In scavenge mode, teams take turns collecting gas cans to fuel a generator. This allows for fast-paced, action-packed game play. Realism mode is designed for players that play together often. This mode not only makes the game more difficult by making infected harder to take down but also eliminates all the help features like weapon and checkpoint alerts and ally outlines.

All these factors make this game worth its price tag and it is proven as more than an expansion, with its graphic and game play enhancements it is a sure fire hit and a must play.

when the demo for the original L4D, i was scared. the zombies ran so fast and there were so many of them it was just overwhelming, but that quickly changed after buying the first one. i thought it was okay and would give it 3 and a half out of five. but L4D 2 is what it should have been in the first place. longer levels, wider spaces, and a lot of different ways to play L4D 2, mostly all online; which to me is the only way to play it. i have a blast every time i play it. it has a lot more replay value then the first mostly due to the wide and longer campaigns.

the game is awsome the availabilty to dismember the undead with youre friends is outstanding although it is sort of repetitive with the first game that being “kill zombies make it to the safe room” the second one offers so much more being melee weapons and what not

What a fantastic game. Great level design, improved characters, more weapons and alot of death.

So if the world is getting you down, you can always start your traing for the zombie apocalypse.

This is seriously one of the best games I've ever purchased. I've gotten so much play time out of it, it's uncanny. Great new characters, and a good set of available DLC. With the introduction of melee weapons, this game doesn't disappoint anyone that liked the first. So recommended.

Tons of gore, cool characters and AWESOME zombies all at a good price, one of the not so common splitscreen games with tons of different game modes and weapons. Best zombie game ever

Loved the original Left 4 Dead and love this one recomended for Valve fans.

Zombies and guns usually bore me but this is really cool, heaps of teamwork needed and the plot isnt overly serious or tryhard funny.

The whole game is killing zombie and you never stop till the end. So many great ways to kill and survive. This is the most entertaining zombie shooter so far.

When I placed my order I was excited to learn that I was getting it the next day. When my package arrived I was happy to see everything was perfect..i played for 2 days hehe thanks MIGHTY APE

This game is really about the co-op play, my friends and I really enjoyed this game, so much that we also downloaded the additional content. downside to the game is that the AI bots are incredibly stupid but insanely accurate. They can shoot zombies through blinding trees but won't hesitate to shoot through you, fortunately they won't do any team damage. Awsome team game, just need friends for the most enjoyable experience.

After playing all the popular games ( which get boring after a while) its always good to come back to some zombie killing. It's just so fun, either by yourself or with friends. But the most fun is when you play with your friends on this game.!!!

I had my reservations about this, having missed the first L4D, but after playing the single player “campaign” and the multiplayer with a mate (splitscreen) I have come to the conclusion, zombies + guns + FPS + splitscreen = a blast! this is not one for the kiddies, and yeah the single player isnt as good (still pretty awesome) but grab a mate and it becomes gold! if you have a group of friends and you hook up a few tv's, I think it would be crazy fun lol

I've owned the Australian version of L4D2 for over a year now and, after waiting and waiting for the possibility of an R18+ rating to actually happen, I decided to go ahead and buy the (apparently UK) version of L4D2. It certainly gives the game a lot more life than the Australian version did. Streets are filled with the dead, the gore detail makes me understand why it was banned, zombies actually burn and… Well, it really does give the game atmosphere compared to our nanny version.

The game is best to be played with friends, as the AI survivors tend to be… Well, completely incompetent most of the time. Pounced by the hooded Hunter? You better hope you have an AI survivor practically hugging you, otherwise you'll lose half your health before they get around to saving you. VS is also a fun mode, but that mode absolutely requires you to play with friends, otherwise you'll just wind up getting kicked for no reason at all. I also advise new players to play Single-Player or Co-op Campaign before jumping into VS mode. Majority of the community go by a “if you suck, you're kicked” mentality, so as long you know how to aim, pick up a health pack, don't run too far ahead or lag too far behind AND save survivors from the special infected ASAP, you'll manage to avoid the kick box during the survivor round. As the Infected, make sure you attack when everyone else does, spawn in front of the survivors and if you're ever the Tank, only run towards the survivors if your team mates are spawned in and attacking. Doing so will keep the kick box away for just a little longer (though there's often the jerk play who will kick you regardless if you're doing good or bad. It's usually the “I did terribly but I'm taking out my frustration on that guy” reason).

Note: Parents, I advise you to set the gore setting to Low if you plan on playing with your kids. It's one of the goriest games I've played.
