Dramatising the postwar years of 1945 to 1961, we see the Germans in
one village trying to cope with the new world.
In April 1945, as the Allies celebrated victory, Germany was living under
occupation. In the pretty village of Tannbach, first the Americans, then the
Russians, took control, literally dividing the village in two. LINE OF
SEPARATION examines this little-told but fascinating moment in history through
the story of the people of Tannbach and how their lives were forever changed by
historical events beyond their control. The cast and production values are
excellent, the viewer is taken through a remarkable sequence of historical
events.
