As it is winter and it is too cold to spray a coat of varnish on my game miniatures down in the garage, I bought a bottle of the satin varnish to use instead as it can be used indoors with minimal smell. Although the varnish is translucent, when you apply it in thin coats it goes on clear. I use 2 thin coats and the finished work is on a par with spray coating them. The advantage with using this varnish and a brush is it is possible to get in to the nooks and crannies that can be missed with spray varnishing. Clean up is with water so no issues there.
