Patrice Lumumba (1925–61) was one of the most famous leaders of the African Independence Movement. Leo Zeilig is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London and is the author of African Struggles Today: Social Movements Since Independence (2012).
