Reading and writing has been a passion since early childhood. Equal to that is my family and all the wonderful things life presents. I love that books can take you anywhere...we can learn, escape, dream and even change ourselves or the world around us. I became a serial reader thirty years ago and have read every book I could get my hands on from classics to New York Times best sellers, (especially famous authors series) The Bible and many "How To's." What's exciting for me is that I'm finally able to merge my passion with my purpose! The result is Lydia's League of Angels! There are a total of five novels in the series, with stories spanning 100 years (1960-2060). I have taken a leap of faith and writing this series is now my full time career. These stories are the result of every thriller, mystery, chick flick, inspirational book or movie I've been exposed to over 40 years. Most especially, The Lydia's League of Angels Series is compiled of; personal life experiences, historical events, and my visions, hopes and dreams, in regards to the status of women and children. Lydia's League of Angels series will demonstrate young women's capacity to accomplish great things, explore relationships between God, men and women, elaborate on justices and injustices relevant to crimes against the female gender and expand on the duties and influences of angels and demons in their celestial world and walking amongst us. During college I dreamed of becoming an accomplished journalist, but was soon called to a career in social work, education and nonprofits. I had the pleasure to focus on what was very important to me and much needed - the advancement of women and children. The experiences that stayed with me during my career and haunt me to this day, was the unbroken cycle of child sexual abuse, violence toward women, sex trafficking and the overall downward spiral of women and children when it comes to crimes confronting them. The plight of abused women and children continued to overwhelm me and after much research, prayer and conviction, Lydia of Thyatira's descendant's story visualized and then the League of Angels came to their rescue! I hope readers will fall in love with the characters, who are currently my best friends. They will make you laugh, cry, cheer and believe.
