Description

Magic Pans Learn Reggae is both a magical adventure story and a music workshop for young children, incorporating musical learning, cultural discovery and social awareness. We follow the educational and magical brilliance of Teach and his mischievous and hilarious drumming dog Bull Bull, as they guide their Steel Pan class to gather more than just harmonious and rhythmical knowledge. While the band practice, they are transported to the island of Jamaica, where they first become immersed in the culture. After soaking up the exotic atmosphere, the band help a young singer to overcome his fears and fulfil his dreams by performing and singing his song "Reggae Reggae Is A Fun Ting" at the famous Reggae Sunsplash. The Magic Pans learn series is a musical and magical learning experience for young children between the ages of 5 and 11. Each book is a functioning workshop which is performed in a fun, educational and rewarding environment. Magic Pans engages music, culture and social issues through the idiom of story and song, while using Steel Pan principles of rhythm and tone to implement the learning. Each book provides practical information and ideas on how to participate, perform and play different instruments, to encounter world rhythms, help resolve social issues and to experience the wonderful world of culture.
