Description

Just one taste of a luscious lime-kissed caipirinha, or a mint infused mojito, and you're transported to the tropical destination of your dreams. Magical, elegant, sexy, and above all, delicioso, Latin cocktails are meant to be relished. From Mexico to Argentina, the Latin American philosophy of life is apparent in how drinks are designed, served, and enjoyed. Mambo Mixers takes readers on a sumptuous sojourn south of the border, into the bars, homes, and parties of Latin Americans. Designed to be accessible to all, from the home cook to the experienced chef. Make-ahead tips are included so that hosts can join the party, too. The ingredients are not overwhelmingly numerous nor difficult to find, and substitutions are always suggested. Drinks include favourites like the margarita, pina colada, mojito, and caipirinha, as well as popular and new regional variations. Peruvian Skewered Beef, Venezuelan Corn Cakes with Mango Cilantro, Argentine-inspired Chimichurri Tostadas (crisp toasts topped with South American pesto), and the classic Tortilla Espanola (Spanish potato omelette served in tapas bars throughout Spain), represent just a sampling of the treats found in Mambo Mixers.
