Description

This publication reports on the conclusions of a scientific working group of 19 experts from 11 countries convened by the Monographs Programme of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), on the re-evaluation of the carcinogenic risk of airborne man-made vitreous fibres. These fibres are primarily made from rock, slag, glass and other processed minerals. They are glass-like fibres of variable composition widely used for thermal and acoustical insulation in buildings, vehicles and appliances.
