Description

When Roger Carrington, a successful CEO, loses everything after putting his own financial security ahead of his company's survival, he is reduced to living in a cardboard shack under a Seattle freeway. In order to survive, he must adapt quickly to his new reality. His growing friendship and interdependence with a small band of people who share the overpass with him challenges his conservative values and narrow notions of homelessness. He finds himself reexamining his self-centered past and discovering a new purpose.

Author Biography:

From computer software to business plans to fiction, writing in its various forms has always been a big part of Don's professional life. He is the author of three magical realism novels for kids and three adult novels ranging in genre from science fiction to literary fiction with current social issues at their core. After enjoying a career in software development, Don had fun with a stint in yacht sales, tutored students in writing and math, ran a small business helping senior citizens with their technology needs, and assisted in the development of a permaculture-inspired farm owned and operated by his two grown children. Don lives with his wife and their golden retriever on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. For more information about Don, his books, and his blog, please go to www.donthompsonauthor.com.
