===== Ren is a writer and visual artist currently based in Southern California. He works in a variety of media in illustration, painting, and sculpture. Outside of fine art, Ren is an award winning graphic designer and art & creative director in advertising. He is also a public speaker on subjects ranging from creativity, creative inspiration & instruction, motivational topics, and his experience with TBI (traumatic brain injury) and memory loss. Ren's main influences come from his diverse cultural and ethnic heritage, and they are revealed through his sense of composition, evocative brush and line work, and symbolisms. Language is another influence in his work, as his first language is Hawaiian Creole English. Many of his visual art pieces incorporate the written word and/or typographic design, such as the Master Mandalas series of books. Ren studied literature and fine arts in France and America; he holds a bachelor of fine arts degree with a focus on the psychology of colour & design.
